8. When designing a building, the most important factor is intended use of the building rather than its outward appearance. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
9. Some people say that school children should be mainly taught about literature of their own country because it is more important than that of other countries. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
10. Space research is a waste of money. The government should spend more on improving the conditions of people living on Earth. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
11. Some people think that the government should give financial aid to creative artists such as painters and musicians. Others believe that creative artists should be funded by alternative sources. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
12. Advertisements are now widespread in all countries. Almost everyone had access to this medium on a daily basis. However, the effects are not always positive. What are some positive and negative effects of advertisements?
13. Some people think the government funding should not be used for supporting art and culture, others think supporting cultural activities may be beneficial for the population and the culture. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
14. Some people believe that the higher the price of a product, the more likely it is to be bought by consumers. To what extent does price influence potential buyers? What other factors influence people to buy a product?
